The Quartetto di Cremona formed in 2000 has made its mark on the international chamber music scene.

Starting at the Stauffer Academy of Salvatore Accardo in Cremona and continuing at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, they continued to study with Hatto Beyerle of the Alban Berg Quartet.

The Quartetto has played to critical acclaim in the most important venues and Festivals in Europe and overseas.

These include Wigmore Hall London, Beethoven Haus and BeethovenFest Bonn, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Klara Festival in Belgium, Mecklenberg Vorpommen Music Festival, Perth International Art Festival Australia, , Barge Music New York, Turku Music Festival, Handelsbeurs (Gent).

In Italy they have played for the Unione Musicale (Turin), Società del Quartetto (Milan), Societa' Filarmonica (Bologna) Santa Cecilia (Rome) to name but a few.

Strad Magazine wrote about their "extremely mature and lyrical sound"; the Australian press defined them as the "glory of the Perth Festival 2004". Following on from the success at the fourth Melbourne Competition, where they won the second prize they were invited to partake in an extended Australian tour. Other successes include first prize at the Vittorio Veneto Competition (the most important Italian competition), first prize at the seventh Cremona International Competition and second prize at the V.Gui International Competition in Florence.

The Cremona Quartet received a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship in 2005.

The Quartet has a large repertoire ranging from the early Haydn quartets to the present day, with particular interest in contemporary Italian music ( Vacchi, Berio and Nono).

They have collaborated with Artists including Bruno Giuranna, Bella Davidovich, Filippo Gamba,  Cedric Tiberghien, Hatto Beyerle, Enrico Bronzi, the Brodsky and Szymanowski Quartet.

Last season the Quartet has performed all over Europe including Wigmore Hall in London and a debut in Sweden at Båstad Chamber Music Festival.

Their recordings will include Vacchi's String Quartets and for Decca italia Boccherini's Quartets followed by a recording of Dvorak and Brahms Quintets with Italian pianist Filippo Gamba.

This season sees the Quartet return to the UK with concerts at Dillington House (Somerset), London and Oxford amongst others.

2011 sees the Quartet return to Wigmore Hall twice once in April and once in June and a new all Mozart recording for DECCA.
